Dr. Robert William Ban, founder of Quantimetrix, dies at 89.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Dr. Robert William Ban, loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Innovator, Scientist, and Artist, died peacefully on Saturday, October 15th, at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, CA.
He was 89.

His was a storied career of scientific innovation that improved the lives of people throughout the world. With passion and determination, he founded Quantimetrix Corporation more than 40 years ago. That legacy lives on in his Son, who now runs the business, and in all those who have been a part of building his dream into a reality from a couple of experiments in a garage to a thriving and recognized leader in its industry.

He was passionate about the people he loved and cared about. He was a huge proponent of education and a lifelong learner, a value he instilled in both his son and grandchildren. He traveled the world using his experiences to inspire others. He was a published author, an artist, poet, and musician.

He is survived by his son Monty Scott Ban, his daughter-in-law Neisy Yadira Ban, granddaughters, Anna Christine Carreras, Alisa Catherine Carreras and Amanda Joyce Ban, and his brother-in-law Michael Ehrlich.
